"Would you like to see a picture of a murderer?", Jane Marple is asked by a stranger whilst on a luxurious holiday in the Caribbean. But before she has a chance to answer, the man clams up and abruptly changes the subject, only to be found dead the next day. But what happened to the photo? Why is the hotelier prone to nightmares? Which guests are hiding secrets from their pasts or are not being forthright about their identities? And will Miss Marple be able to prevent the next murder?
A Caribbean Mystery introduces characters who are later to appear in Nemesis, which can be seen as the crowning glory to Miss Marple's career of problem-solving. Here, Miss Marple goes on a journey to the West Indies, and elicits the help of a rich man, Mr. Rafiel, in preventing further murders. Calling herself Nemesis when appealing to old Mr. Rafiel for assistance, Miss Marple is later left a sum of money in Mr. Rafiel's will to seek justice in another case, titled Nemesis.
A Caribbean Mystery is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie and first published in the UK by the Collins Crime Club on 16th November 1964 and in the US by Dodd, Mead and Company the following year. It features the detective Miss Marple
